I’m Da’Yon. I was born in Sherman Texas, and raised throughout the Dallas metroplex. I attended Garland High, where I played football & basketball. In 2012 I moved to NYC, and attended Kingsborough Community College. There I hosted my own sports radio show, and did play by play for the schools basketball team, on the schools local radio station. I graduated with a associates in media arts. Then moved to Houston to attend UH.
While in undergrad at the University of Houston, I began doing play by play for high school football & basketball games. I worked for the UH athletic department as a student reporter, doing feature stories, interviews and more. Also, during my tenure at UH I interned for KPRC channel 2 as their sports reporter intern, in addition to interning with the American Athletic Conference as the campus correspondent.
After graduating in 2020, I was hired as the color commentator for all UH women’s basketball home games airing on ESPN+. For the 2021 season, I continued my role as the color commentator for UH women’s home basketball games, as well as for the Lamar University men’s and women’s game home games.
