In a Central Football League regular season game at Fred G. Hughes Stadium, the Joplin Crusaders beat the Enid Enforcers 31-28 to avenge a loss to the Enforcers in the 2012 league championship game. The Crusaders are now 4-0 on the year.
Missouri Southern's first team offense and defense held off the reserves 6-0 in the annual Green-Gold spring game at Fred G. Hughes Stadium. Both sophomore quarterbacks Jay McDowell and Ricky Nichols showed promise running the ball, even in a game where they could not be tackled. In fact, coach Daryl Daye blew a 4th down play dead as Nichols appeared to cross the goal line in the 4th quarter.
