NEOSHO --- More than 70 bikers left the Neosho Square around one this afternoon and headed down Highway 60 to end up at West 60 Cycle . The shop hosted the 2013 Toy Run organized by the group "Friends of Newton and Mcdonald County Social Services." The goal of the event is to help foster children in both counties lead a happy life.
To participate, each biker donated new toys or gift cards which will be given to the kids. Participants say a cause like this makes riding much more enjoyable.
"These kids, they look forward to this and this maybe the only thing they get for Christmas and I just believe if you believe in anything, believe in helping kids," says Mike Loring, West 60 Cycle Owner.
"Mike and I have been doing this for about six years now and it grows every year. More people hear about it more people show up and we're just tickled to death," says Rick Worden, Toy Run Organizer.
After the ride, bikers enjoyed live music and homemade chili provided by the owners of West 60 Cycle.
