WEBB CITY, MO--
The number of students that receive help through the Bright Futures program in Webb City is on the rise. Jesse Degonia works at Bright Futures and says they help 400 less fortunate students every year. They provide them with school supplies like notebooks, crayons and glue among other things. This year the number of kids in need is up 10 percent from last year. They rely on donations from the community to serve so many kids.
"As the numbers go up we're constantly asking for donations to make sure those kids have what they need. This year we have a good community outreach. People were pouring in donations which has been great," says Bright Futures Director Jesse Degonia.
Bright Futures is still in need of binders and crayons. If you'd like to drop off any supplies, Bright Futures is located at 30 South Jefferson in Webb City. They're open Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm.
