Volunteers Clear Broken Limbs from a Joplin Trail

Last week's ice storm left many fallen and dangling limbs along the Frisco Greenway Trail.
JOPLIN, MO -- Nearly a dozen volunteers clean up part of a local trail. Last week's ice storm left many fallen and dangling limbs along the Frisco Greenway Trail. Members of the Joplin Trails Coalition teamed up with community members for a work session to clear those limbs this morning. Workers say it's important the trail is cleared off to ensure safety for anyone who uses it.

"If you come by here any day, especially on a weekend like this, you'll see a lot of people on the trail, and so we want that trail to be safe, and we want it to be accessible to the entire community," said Paul Teverow, Joplin Trails Coalition Secretary.

Volunteers primarily focused on the trail between St. Louis Avenue and the Turkey Creek Bridge.
