NEVADA, MO.--- More than 50 people attend the first Inaugural Vernon County Sheriff's Office Christmas Dinner. The meal was held for employees of the sheriff's office and their families to celebrate the accomplishments of 2013. Detention Officer Frank Lewis was awarded for Employee of the Year.
Deputy Pat Mccarty received a commendation for "personnel service." The sheriff's office served over 3,000 papers last year and McCarty served almost half of them by himself. Deputy David Johnson was awarded for perfect attendance as well as his willingness to come in every time he was called. Western Missouri 911 Operator Emily Earnest received the title Dispatcher of the Year.
