A Joplin man is behind bars for assaulting and robbing another man outside a convenience store.
JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin man is behind bars for assaulting and robbing another man outside a convenience store. James Jones was arrested for robbery, larceny and assault on a law enforcement officer. Police received a tip last night and took him to custody at Messenger Towers. It happened around 7:20 Wednesday night at the Downtown Corner Mart at 419 west 4th Street. Police say Jones exited the business and assaulted a man in his 60's and took the victim's money.
