Update: Autopsy Complete and New Details Revealed in Joplin Theater Shooting

Derek Moore died as a result of several gunshot wounds to his body.
JOPLIN, MO.--- Police are now sharing more details about what led to a murder at a Joplin movie theater last weekend. Derek Moore, 39, was at the Regal 14, formerly known as Northstar 14, with the estranged wife of Jeffery Bruner. Police allege that when he learned the pair was at the theater, Bruner went there and waited for them to leave the building. Bruner confronted them in the parking lot where he exchanged words with Moore. Witnesses say the situation deteriorated quickly into gunfire.

"He doesn't really make an attempt to leave the scene.  After that, he went to his vehicle where he placed his firearm. Some citizens that were there contacted him and assisted in detaining him until law enforcement arrived," said Lt. Matt Stewart, Joplin Police Department.

Preliminary autopsy results confirm Moore sustained several shots to the torso. Bruner is charged with first degree murder in the case and is in custody in the Jasper County Jail.
