JOPLIN, MO.--- Families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Joplin were serenaded by a holiday choir. The high school choir from the Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School visited the center today. Students sang several Christmas songs and visited with people staying there. Organizers say it's hard for families to be away from home during the holidays. Many of the families staying at the center have seriously ill children at Freeman Health System and Mercy Hospital Joplin.
"They just love that, and of course they can make such a great connection with the people of the community in these small venues. They are so excited about being able to perform," said John Attenberry, T.J. Choir Director.
The choir makes several stops in the community during the year to share their love of music.
