Texas Man Accused of Kidnapping and Raping a Grove Woman Now Behind Bars

Terry Stanfill is being held in the Delaware County Jail for an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.
GROVE, OK.--- A Texas man is behind bars accused of kidnapping and raping a Grove woman. Terry Stanfill, 55, is being held in the Delaware County Jail for an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. Sheriff Harlan Moore says additional charges will be requested through the district attorney's office for kidnap and rape. This all sparks from an incident Friday morning when a 30-year-old woman called 911 saying she was being chased.

The woman told officers she had been forcibly taken from the parking lot at Spanky's Sports shortly after 10 p.m. last Thursday. She says she was knocked unconscious, forced into a vehicle and taken to a nearby mobile home. She was able to escape and run to a neighbor and call 911. The victim was able to lead authorities to Stanfill, who had previously served a 25 year sentence in Texas for aggravated sexual assault.
