Missouri voters could be deciding whether to legalize marijuana next year. Several petitions have been submitted to the Missouri Secretary of State's office which would allow recreational pot use.

It's not the first time the issue has come up statewide. In fact, a state lawmaker proposed changing the law last year. But State Representative Charlie Davis says the bill didn't get much support. "The bills just don't get assigned to committee. But it's not just the Republican held legislature. Even when the Democrats were in charge of the Missouri legislature - the bills never went anywhere because the vast majority of the people were against it."

Supporters must gather tens of thousands of signatures by May to continue the process. If that's successful, the issue would go on the November 2014 ballot.
