Springfield Zookeeper Killed By Animal

Veteran Zookeeper John Bradford was charged by an elephant at Dickerson Park Zoo.
SPRINGFIELD, MO--- John Bradford, 62, was charged by an elephant at Dickerson Park Zoo, Friday morning. Police say he was feeding the 6,000 lb animals when one of them became aggressive. The incident happened inside the elephant barn with several other workers nearby.

Bradford worked at Dickerson Park for 25 years, and was in charge of the Asian display at the facility where the elephants live. The female elephant that attacked Bradford, Patience, is 41 years-old and has been at the zoo since 1990. Zoo officials have not yet decided the animal's future at the facility.
