SEK Humane Society Adoption Event

A southeast Kansas animal shelter is trying to find homes for more than 100 animals.
PITTSBURG, KS -- People are stopping by the Southeast Kansas Humane Society all weekend for the 10th annual adopt-a-thon. The shelter usually runs at full capacity with 90 dogs and 50 cats, and they hold the adopt-a-thon every year to make more room for incoming animals. The event includes major discounts on adoption fees to help each animal find a perfect home. The staff at the Humane Society says right now is the perfect time to adopt a dog or cat.

"They're just really loving and it's unconditional love," says Southeast Kansas Humane Society spokesperson Erica Wilson. "No matter what kind of day you're having, you can go home and your pet's always going to be there, and always going to be happy to see you."

Sunday is the last day for the adopt-a-thon. The shelter will be open 1PM-4PM.
