RIVERTON, KS.--- The Riverton Band is on its way back from playing at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Two of the students almost didn't get to perform. Monday night, someone broke into the school's bus and stole two saxophones. The sax's were valued at $3,000. Just when the two students thought they wouldn't be able to perform at the game, a San Diego high school stepped in, giving the kids loaner instruments for the night.
"I was just shocked, I can't even describe it honestly," said Devin Pearson, Riverton High School Student.
School officials think the hotel will pick up the tab for the stolen items. The Riverton High School Band is scheduled to return home tomorrow night at 5.
