PSU Football Stimulates Local Economy

PITTSBURG, KS.--- For Pittsburg area businesses, crimson and gold means extra green. According to Pittsburg's Chamber of Commerce President Blake Benson, every Saturday the City of Pittsburg swells as people from around the country come to town to watch the Gorilla's play. He says the visitors stimulate the local economy in a number of ways, they stay at the local hotels, they eat at the restaurants, and they shop at Pittsburg stores.

"Those folks show up at every single game. So, the economic activity that we see now, could carry right on through November, hopefully even December," said Blake Benson, Chamber President.

All of the increase economic activity makes the city greatly anticipate football season, and a winning one at that.
