PITTSBURG, KS.--- Pittsburg State University officials get ready to celebrate improvements to the campus' newest hot spot. Tomorrow administrators will hold a dedication ceremony for Dellinger Hall. Renovations for the dorm took place this summer, and finished just in time for the fall semester. The cost of the project is just under $5 million and was funded by bonds. The construction replaced parts of the students' rooms, hallways, lounges, and bathrooms. Crews also added a new lounge, office, and laundry room for students.
"They were really excited about moving in and they couldn't wait to see the building. And since then our occupancy numbers have been full, our students want to live here. They are requesting everyday to move in. Unfortunately, we can't house all of them," said Luis Aranda, Dorm Area Coordinator.
The Dellinger Hall Renovation Project is part of a campus wide improvement plan that will continue through summer 2014.
