CARTHAGE, MO.--- It's 56 days until Christmas and a popular Carthage attraction is gearing up for the season early. More than 50,000 Christmas lights have been placed around the Precious Moments chapel and grounds. Crews started working in August to get the lights in place. A lighting ceremony will be held this Friday and the public is invited to attend. Duke Mason will perform a concert, and caroling will be held around a giant 18 foot Christmas tree.
"Wonderful time of year. The entire experience out here is enhanced by Christmas and be together with family. Precious Moments is a great place to be with your family," said Tim Metcalf, Precious Moments.
The lighting ceremony will be held this Friday at 6:30 inside the chapel. Every child that attends will also receive a free teddy bear while supplies last. Precious Moments is located at 4321 South Chapel Road in Carthage.
