PITTSBURG, KS.--- Bikers, walkers, and joggers in Pittsburg could be getting another outside area to exercise. The City of Pittsburg will be having a meeting with area residents tonight to discuss the possiblitiy of a new multi-use trail in the city. The trail would be located on Rouse Street and run south of Centennial Ave. Assistant Director of Public Works Troy Graham says the trail would be about one mile long. Graham says people living on Rouse Street south of Centennial Avenue have asked the city to make a trail so it's easier to get downtown.
"Once they get to Centennial, they've got some trail that can take them up to the college and around quite a ways. They feel like their kind of cut off down there. They want a place where they can safely walk from those subdivisions up to the city or other areas of the town," said Troy Graham, Assistant Director of Public Works.
Graham says if the city decides to make the trail, it would cost anywhere between $500,000 and $1 million.
