PITTSBURG, KS.--- The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is helping high school students get ready for college. The educational association hosted a college planning day at Pittsburg High School this afternoon. Organizers say it gives prospective college students the opportunity to learn about public and private universities and technical schools throughout Kansas. Representatives of the different institutions spoke about majors they offered and how a high school graduate can fund their college education.
"What high school students should be doing at this point in the school year is checking with their college of interest, checking to see when their admissions deadlines are, their scholarship deadlines and visiting with their high school counselors," said Gina Ulbrich, PHS Counselor.
More than 40 college representatives and close to 500 high school students attended the planning fair.
