Pittsburg 2014 Women of Distinction Community Calendar Project

The event honors 12 women who have donated hard work and time to improving their community.
PITTSBURG, KS.--- Tonight the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce announces their honorees for the "2014 Women of Distinction" community calendar project. Workers spent all day preparing for a dinner and cocktail event that is going on now at the Wilkinson Alumni Center on Pitt State's campus. The event honors 12 women who have donated hard work and time to improving their community. Tonight, the calendar will be unveiled to more than 100 people. One honoree says she is more than honored to be receiving this recognition.

"Something like this when you can see not only myself but other women doing that. I think it is just a great opportunity for other people and the young to see what you can do and how you can move forward, and so I'm just so excited," said Cathy Lee Arcuino, Honoree.

"This is kind of a mid-year event, and it's just for women who serve the community and so it is just a way we can give back to them," said Anna Gudde, Coordinator.

The calendars are free and will be available tomorrow at the Chamber of Commerce Office at 4th and Pine Street.
