Par Hill Park Facelift

JOPLIN, MO.--Par Hill Park in Joplin is getting a facelift.

Joplin parks directors say they'll be adding another playground, 3 picnic shelters, and even a splash pad to Par Hill Park.

The City of Joplin recently approved a 200-thousand dollar grant to develop the park.

That money will go towards resurfacing trails which will soon connect to Campbell Parkway trails.

The grant money will also go towards building 2 off street parking lots to make it a little less congested for nearby residents.

Parks Director of Joplin Chris Cotten says

"They would like to have off street parking available, because they're tired of kids and families parking in front of their homes to utilize the park so part of redeveloping that park is to accomplish that."

Cotten also says Par Hill Park will have 250 trees once its finished
