The development group Wallace-Baijili will help the city of Joplin generate almost 2 billion dollars in revenue.

It's part of a long term effort to restore residential and commercial areas in the tornado zone.

The firm's leaders have met with city council and staff to make a list of what assets need to be rebuilt. That list continues to grow

The master developer of the project says the partnership will bring a boost to rebuilding.

"The benefit of a public-private partnership is to really create those type of assets that either the public sector or private sector would not be able to do themself," Wallace says.

Wallace also says he wants the project to focus on the community. The group plans to continue meeting with residents for feedback.
