New Nevada Cat Shelter

The Nevada Animal Shelter is forced to upgrade its cat area.
NEVADA, MO.--- According to the Missouri Department of Agriculture, the Nevada Animal Shelter's cat pens did not meet regulations. Shelter managers are currently installing closed walls and an air ventilation system to prevent the spread of diseases between cats. The pens now have openings that allow the cats to switch rooms and provide them more room to play. The shelter's capacity has gone from 8 pens to 14.

"Make our animals more adoptable and hopefully they are a lot more comfortable while they're there," states Ben Douglas, Nevada Animal Patrol Officer.

The City of Nevada is providing more than $3,000 for the upgrade.
