NEOSHO --- More than 100 former soldiers packed the Neosho Civic Center for the Annual Veteran's Dinner this afternoon. The event was sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. Non-veterans also were able to attend today's meal. Organizers say their goal is to bring people together to honor the men and women who have fought for our country.
"Having vets communicating with other people sitting at a table and talking and visiting, more or less. And meeting other people that they probably didn't know were vets," says Tina Walden, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 163 President.
The Veteran Dinner is free for military and held every year near Veteran's Day to salute our nation's heroes.
