Neosho Community Christmas Dinner

Residents in Neosho gather to share in the Christmas spirit.
NEOSHO, MO-- Christmas dinner in Neosho is all about family! For many people like Judy Woodworth, she relies on the warmth of her community.

"Oh it's wonderful to be around your friends and you see other people who have lost their spouse like I have. And it's just fun to be out and about."

The dinner has been going on for more than 10 years now. It touches families in a number of different ways. Tim Schmidt and his family have been volunteering for the past 5 Christmases.

"It let's people know that there are people here, that are willing to help, that care. And if you have a need, they have their arms open wide to help you out," says Schmidt.

His daughter, Heather Schmidt says, "I've been serving here for five years and it's a great blessing to serve others and I really enjoy doing it."

The community dinner has also been touching the life of Roberta Foster. She's been coordinating the event for the last 7 years. And is marking this year, as another success.

"It means a lot to me to be able to have people here that can bring a smile into their life, into their day to encourage them. And make this a very happy experience for them. And that makes me very happy," says Foster. Community members are already planning for next year.
