MONETT, MO -- A Missouri city receives state funding for improvements to its drinking water system.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded the City of Monett with more than 13 million dollars for the project. The funding comes from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and will be used for several projects. They include the construction of a single-stage treatment facility for two drinking water wells and the installation of nearly 65 hundred feet of water lines. It will also go towards a one-thousand gallon-per-minute booster pump station.

The projects are expected to be completed in December 2014.
