JOPLIN, MO.--- Faculty and staff at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin receive a free check up. A wellness screening was held at the Student Center today. Several different health care businesses were on hand like Walgreens, Health Essentials and Carlson Chiropractic. The students could get their vision checked, they could also check their blood pressure and test their hearing. Organizers say it's a nice option for the students and staff.
"Just to give them a low cost opportunity. A lot of people can't afford to go and pay the costs it would cost at the doctors office. We just want to give them the opportunity to be come out and take care of their health and make sure everything is going well," said Heather Arnold, MSSU.
This week is Wellness Week and various activities will be held on campus to improve the students health
