MISSOURI--- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon proposes $20 million in grants in the next year for students interested in mental health fields. The governor says addressing critical shortages of trained mental health care professionals will help improve patients with mental illnesses. 72 out of 114 Missouri counties lack a licensed psychiatrist. The latest proposal would help more graduates pursue this type of career and improve the mental health care system while providing more jobs. If legislation passes, Crowder College could receive more than $200,000 as part of the proposal
