MISSOURI--- A Missouri senator is proposing legislation that would require a 72 hour wait period before an abortion. The regulation is suggested for the 2014 legislative session which starts on January 8th. Currently, the state only requires a 24 hour informed consent law, which list all relevant facts. Cassville Republican David Sater proposed the extended period. He believes it would provide additional time for reflection. However, opponents believe the wait would only increase risk with later procedures.
