JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin councilman is hoping voters will decide to keep him on for four more years. Mike Seibert announced today that he will seek reelection for the zone four council seat he currently occupies. He was first appointed to fill an opening in 2008 and was elected to the seat in 2010. He says he's learned during that time and wants to continue to play a role in post- tornado development.
"I really feel like the next four years, we're really going to see some historic growth and development in the Joplin area and I'd really like to be a part of that and continue my service on city council," said Mike Seibert, Joplin Council Member.
Candidates can officially start filing to run on November 19th. Five seats will be on the April 8th ballot.
