Miami Women's Shelter Needs

Women and children escaping abuse need your help while transitioning into a safer environment.
MIAMI, OK.--- Women and children escaping abuse need your help while transitioning into a safer environment. The Women's Shelter in Miami is over capacity. 17 women and 12 children are staying in the 19 room facility.

Shelter managers say they are in need of a wide range of supplies. Those include hygiene products, toilet paper, back packs and school materials. Because of so many kids at the shelter, perishable and healthy food items are also needed.

"I say it takes a whole community here in the United States to help these kids. Gve them a handout so they can get on to school and have a brighter future," said Angela Zeyn, Women's Shelter Director.

The location of the shelter is private so any donations should be taken to the Miami Crisis Center. It's located at 118 "A" Street Southeast.
