The incident started when a Jasper County deputy tried to stop the truck around ten last night near Junge and Central City Road in Joplin. As the deputy came up behind the vehicle, shots were fired from the moving truck, striking the deputy's car in the hood and windshield. The officer was not injured.

The truck then led several law enforcement agencies on a pursuit around the Galena area and into west Joplin.

Jasper County deputies called off the search around 1:30 this morning after the truck was not found. No arrests have been made in connection to this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
