Local Athletes Sign

Area athletes sign to college.

Last week the early signing period began for the High School student athletes.  Several area competitors signed their letters of intent to play college sports.

   
This afternoon at Webb City a pair of Lady Cardinals signed.  Kaitlin Beason signed a letter of intent to play softball at Missouri State University in Springfield.  Beason was an All-State pitcher for the Lady Cardinals, leading them to the Class 4 Championship game this season.  Also signing was Mikaela Burgess who will play basketball at Pittsburg State.  Burgess is an All-State Guard for the Lady Cardinals hoops team, leading them to the Class 4 State Championship just last week. 

 In Pittsburg, Colgan’s Christian Cedeno signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Pittsburg State.  Cedeno will be a pitcher for the
Gorillas.  As Junior Cedeno post a 7-1 record with to saves and helped lead the Panthers to a 20-5 record and the Class 3 State Championship.
