LAMAR, MO.--- The Lamar R-1 School District will hold a silent auction on various school items. By placing your bid, you're helping students and staff in Lamar schools.
"By moving those items that are not being used anymore out, we are able to use the open area for storage supply for our phase two supplies that are coming in," said Zach Harris, Lamar Superintendent.
Zach Harris is the superintendent for the Lamar School District. He says the closed bid sale will also help with student funding.
"Help out some students that aren't able to pay their activity fees and different things to help out at various levels," said Harris.
In case you think there's nothing here for you, think again.
"We have everything, from welders to an old tv to old air conditioners, lights, a number of different tools," said Harris.
The room is full of things that can be used inside or outside, and they're all good, just not usable in the schools renovated facilities. Harris tells us he's not too worried about dealing with what's left behind.
"We've housed one of these before and everything did sale. So, we are hopeful that everything will sell. We will probably go ahead and hang on to anything that has not sold at the end of the sale," said Harris.
You may look at the items tomorrow and Thursday night from four until seven in the evening and on Saturday from 8 until noon. Bids are due at the Lamar Career and Technical Center Office by 3 p.m. on October 22nd -- which is next Tuesday. Once they're opened, all items must be paid for and picked up by October 29th.
