Lamar East Primary School Pumpkin Carving

More than 50 Lamar first graders show off their geometry skills to their superintendent Tuesday.
LAMAR, MO.--- More than 50 Lamar first graders show off their geometry skills to their superintendent today. The East Primary School principal and Lamar superintendent carved a pumpkin with the 6-year-olds. Students munched on Halloween candy while helping Dr. Zach Harris carve the perfect pumpkin. The elementary principal tells us interacting with the kids makes teachers, staff, parents, and students feel more like a family.

"I've been places where superintendents don't come into the building, you don't get to see them very often. Being here and having Dr. Harris come in and out of the building, it's great and students really enjoy it as well," said Zach Lemert, East Primary School Principal.

He adds jumping into a project like pumpkin carving brightens up everyone's day.
