Lamar Dog Park

Lamar residents are closer to having their first ever dog park.
LAMAR, MO.--- The Lamar Police Department needs more than $1,600 to build fencing at the Northwest end of the Lamar City Park. Once it's built, officers will add in benches and jumps for dogs. Another $900 is needed to complete the park. Lamare Eagle Scout, Gene Rounds has so far raised $500 for the park as part of his boy scout project. He held a dog photo contest at last month's Lamar Free Fair.

"The big kick off with this photo contest made the fun start coming in bigger than I thought they would, so it was really inspiring to see how much people donated during the fair," states Sandy Alexander, Animal Control Officers.

Cans to collect donations are placed at businesses around Lamar. You can also find a can at City Hall.
