KANSAS--- Starting this year, the Kansas Commercial Motor Vehicle Office introduces a new registration system. The system will help ensure that all commercial vehicles are properly registered and comply with existing federal and state laws. That includes what qualifies as a commercial vehicle, which can weigh more than 10,000 pounds, transport more than 15 passengers, or transport hazardous material. You only have to meet one of those criteria for a vehicle to qualify as commercial. The registration does not apply to farm vehicles.
