PITTSBURG, KS.--- The State of Kansas logged more than 24,000 incidents of domestic violence in 2012. Today, a workshop in Pittsburg helped 30 Southeast Kansas law enforcement officials focus on the issue. The Kansas Attorney General's Office hosted the training and covered a number of different topics.
The training included everything from how to better understand domestic violence victims and offenders, and how to effectively prosecute cases. The main goal of this training is to better prepare and educate law enforcement, probation officers, prosecutors, and other court officials who work directly with victims of domestic abuse.
