This free 12-week program is taught by Joplin officers and gives you the chance to get a behind the scenes look at how the agency operates.
JOPLIN,MO--

The Joplin Police Department invites you to take a sneak peak into their world.

The department will begin its 42nd Citizens Police Academy class in February.

This free 12-week program is taught by Joplin officers and gives you the chance to get a behind the scenes look at how the agency operates.

Class members will learn about many law enforcement topics including, crime scene investigations, narcotics, swat operations and more.

The program starts February 20th and will end May 15th with classes held every Thursday from 6:30 to 9 in the evening.

The academy will be limited to about 25 participants.

To take part, you need to submit an application to Joplin's Special Enforcement Bureau at 115 East 34th Street.
