Joplin Woman Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Two Police Officers

Martin has been arrested for two counts of First Degree Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer and she's also facing several traffic violations, along with property damage and Felony Eluding.
JOPLIN, MO--- According to a police report, a Joplin police officer attempted to pull over Deanna Martin, 29, of Joplin on Wednesday night at 9pm. Officers suspected she was driving while intoxicated. She failed to stop and a pursuit took place on west 4th Street. Another officer set up spike strips but the car continued to roll.

Around the 200 block of S. Byers, Martin's vehicle allegedly struck two patrol cars. One officer received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. One of the patrol vehicles had to be towed since it was not drivable after the crash.

Martin has been arrested for two counts of First Degree Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer and she's also facing several traffic violations, DWI, along with property damage and Felony Eluding. She is currently in the Joplin Jail awaiting formal charges with the Jasper County Prosecutors Office.
