Joplin South Middle School Coat Drive

Some local students are hoping you will pitch in to help keep Joplin warm this winter.
JOPLIN, MO.--- Some local students are hoping you will pitch in to help keep Joplin warm this winter. The South Middle School "WEB" program is hosting a coat drive. The mentoring group pairs eighth graders with sixth graders to help them adjust to middle school. Now, those students are focusing on the community as a whole, working to collect jackets, sweaters, gloves and anything to help keep residents warm as temperatures drop.

"It's definitely eye opening for the students, especially for the ones lucky enough to never have to worry about where their warm clothes were coming from. It was nice for them to see that," said Kiley Marti, South Middle School Teacher.

You can drop off donations at the front office at South Middle School, those items will go to Souls Harbor.
