JOPLIN, MO -- A school in the Four States is recognized for its use of technology in classrooms.

Joplin High School has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2013 through 2015. The award is reserved for programs that meet certain criteria. The school received the designation for its one-to-one laptop initiative, which focuses on access to technology, collaboration, instruction, and professional development. Every teacher and student at the high school has his or her own Macbook for access to online resources.

Superintendent C.J. Huff says the designation highlights the district's success in creating an innovative learning environment.
