JOPLIN, MO.--- The Learning Tree Preschool and Day Care is turning to the community for help. The City of Joplin has donated a storm shelter from the 2011 tornado to the preschool. Owners of the preschool say they are extremely grateful, however there's still another problem. They don't have enough money to move the storm shelter. It's currently located across the street from the airport and needs to be moved to their location in South Joplin. It would all cost about $4,000 to $5,000 to move the shelter.
"It's the safety of the children, that's the most important thing. That's the only thing we've thought about since we got this building after the May 2011 tornado, is to get us shelter for the children," said Diana Heckmaster, The Learning Tree.
