JOPLIN, MO.--- Joplin police work to keep holiday traffic flowing smoothly. 7th Street and Range Line are the most congested roadways today. Four officers are stationed along the streets monitoring the heavy traffic. The city has hired extra officers for the holiday season to specifically look for hazardous moving vehicles. So far, police say there haven't been many problems.
"So, far it's running smoothly, we haven't had any issues but that's the purpose of us being out here," Catherine Ramoly, JPD Traffic Officer.
Police have responded to one minor injury crash last night and one non-injury accident today.
