Joplin Plaza Apartment Fire

Residents were alarmed of a fire that broke out at one of the units Thursday night.
JOPLIN, MO--

Residents notified the fire department of flames and smoke around 6:34 Thursday night and they were on scene three minutes later. The fire was located on the second floor balcony of apartment 128. It was contained both by the sprinkler system located on the balcony and the Joplin Fire Department. Residents say they were happy that no one was home at the time of the fire.

"The good thing is nobody was hurt and everything turned out okay. The only thing is we have property damage, but everything is fine, but the good thing is nobody was hurt," says Plaza Apartment resident T.J. Cluck.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
