Today, a Jasper County judge sentenced Quincy Richards to five years probation.
JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin man will not go to prison for his role in a 2011 stabbing. Today, a Jasper County judge sentenced Quincy Richards to five years probation. Richards was originally charged with first degree assault for the April 2011 stabbing of Christian Abbasi. It happened at a home in the 800 block of Pennsylvania.

Police say Richards accomplice, Kaleb Rector, hit Abbasi over the head with a shovel during a fight and Richards stabbed Abbasi six times in the torso. Officers say Abbasi's girlfriend was involved in the dispute. They say one of the suspects was intoxicated at the time. Abbasi suffered serious injuries in the attack.
