Joplin Man Pleads Guilty in the Death of a Local Toddler

Eric Hicks of Joplin pleads guilty in the 2011 death of 18 month old Emjay Corn.
JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin man pleads guilty in the 2011 death of a local toddler. Eric Hicks, 30, was taking care of 18 month old Emjay Corn when Joplin police got a call that the child had died. Hicks was the boyfriend of the toddler's mother. An autopsy ruled Corn died of blunt force trauma to the head. Hicks pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the case in Jasper County Court. He will be sentenced in December.
