JOPLIN, MO.--- The Joplin Humane Society is at an emergency situation for canned dog food and they're asking for help. The shelter is currently 100% full with dogs and cats. Recently, they have seen an influx of puppies and older dogs that all require canned dog food. Both the puppies and senior dogs aren't able to chew up the kibble and need wet dog food to eat. Currently, the shelter only has a one-day supply of canned food and are turning to the public for help.
"Anything would make us happy, a case would thrill us. If we could have enough to get through a couple weeks that would be tremendously helpful," said Lysa Boston, Shelter Manager.
If you would like to donate canned food or drop off a donation, the shelter is located at 140 Emperor Lane in Joplin or you can call (417) 623-3642.
