Joplin Dive Shop Helps Red Cross

Calypso-The Dive Shop in Joplin held an underwater turkey shoot Saturday morning.
JOPLIN, MO-- Local scuba divers take on an underwater challenge to help disaster victims.

Calypso-The Dive Shop in Joplin held an underwater turkey shoot Saturday morning.

Scuba divers plunged into a pool with spearguns and took aim, firing at a target.

For every three attempts, the participants paid a 10-dollar entree fee.

Funds raised will be donated to the Red Cross for relief efforts.

"The red cross is here at home, did worlds of things for our local folks during the tornado and afterwards, illinois and indiana right know the destruction that's up there, they're working, they're helping they're doing something," says Calypso Manager Valerie Earl.

The dive shop holds six fundraisers annually with each benefitting different organizations.
