JOPLIN, MO.--- If you have a newer AT&T smart cell phone, you should notice it's running a bit faster. AT&T has upgraded its cell phone service in Joplin. The new LTE service, which stands for long term evolution, is the next step in cell phone data service. It is faster than the previous 4G network, allowing people to surf the web, upload pictures and watch videos at a significantly faster rate.
"Well, we're here in Joplin. Try to put it everywhere that we can. It's now in Joplin, usually comes out in the larger cities," said Larry Thrar, AT&T.
Joplin is the second town in our area to receive LTE service, after Miami. There are currently more than 400 cities in the United States with LTE.
